The anti-bootcamp sessions
For healthy living, it is ideal to move on a daily basis. Obviously, it is not practical or cost-effective for most of us to attend a yoga or pilates class every day. But you can learn the confidence and techniques that will help you integrate exercise and movement into your daily routine.
This is not bootcamp, ladies
I really do not believe that exercise has to be painful or something to dread. You can be gentle, take care, go slow and have fun while you move. I emphasize the art and science of learning to meet yourself and your body right where you are and gently nudge it along from there, using basic biomechanical principles and the weight of your own body. No weights or special equipment necessary. Just you and a yoga mat.
We go over different exercises and techniques during every session — change is good! — but each one follows the same basic format.
It begins with breathing
Every week I’ll teach a new breathing exercise or review an oldie. Either way, focusing on our breath will help ground, focus and center. Anxiety, be gone!
Yes, learning and exercise can be fun — promise
We’ll spend about half the time learning new simple and effective exercises focusing heavily on core strength, posture support and general basic yoga principles. The rest of the time is an open lab situation where you can work on these or other exercises we’ve learned.
I’ll guide the session along, give you pointers and tips for techniques and form and help you with stretches. We’ll set the mood with some grooving music and keep the atmosphere fun, light and supportive. No pressure. No competition.
Ahhhhhh … relaxation
Yes, it is possible … I will teach you. Each session ends with a stress-dissolving relaxation session to leave you feeling calm and at peace.
Mini 1-on-1 sessions
After the session, private mini 1-on-1s are available in a revolving style.
Details
+ The anti-bootcamp sessions are semi-private (4-6 women).
+ If not currently a patient of mine, you will need to schedule a free wellness exam before you join the course.
+ Loose fit clothing is best for all sessions. Think exercise-wear — something you can move and bend in. I do have a place for you to change if you need.
+ I accept cash or can send a PayPal invoice to be paid prior to the session. (It is possible your health insurance, flexible spending account or health savings account will reimburse the cost of this session and I will provide you with the necessary paperwork.)
